Company auditions for WilleyWorld Community Productions have been scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Reddick Library annex in Ottawa.

WilleyWorld is looking for area residents interested in working in various capacities on its upcoming shows.

"Whether you're interested in acting, props, sets, or ushering, we hope interested folks will stop by and sign up," said co-founder Walt Willey in a press release. "We want to enlist local talent to help us continue producing shows for our future productions."

People 18 and older are asked to stop by and fill out a questionnaire April 26 indicating talents, abilities and interests. WilleyWorld is hoping to form a talent pool from which to draw to help with all aspects of future shows.

"There's an incredible level of talent in this area, and we have been fortunate enough to be able to tap into that for our productions," said co-founder Kim "Howard" Johnson. "We're hoping to add to the pool with our company auditions."

"One of our goals was to be able to combine working professional actors with local talent and it's simply worked out great," Willey said. "Our local actors have performed brilliantly and I'm very proud of them."

This year's summer production will be announced soon. The announced cancelation of ABC-TV's "All My Children," is expected to have little effect on the production. Willey, a 25-year-veteran of "All My Children," will be back on stage in Ottawa, and is planning to continue the tradition of bringing along one of his AMC castmates to appear as well.

"The (ABC) network has thrown us a curve, but I suspect it's one which may ultimately benefit our summer show," Johnson said.

"And curve balls are often hit right outta the park!" added Willey.

WilleyWorld Community Productions was founded in 2009 by Willey and Johnson. Their first presentation was that summer's acclaimed production of "The Odd Couple," followed in 2010 by "Arsenic and Old Lace" and "These Shining Lives," the latter a co-production with the City of Ottawa and Chicago's Rivendell Theatre. WilleyWorld Community Productions has also conducted workshops for area young people and utilized their talents in their productions as well.
