      • Sandie Klinger I didnt realize it was in April. Must have been when we were in the basement looking out the window & seeing the tornado touch down over the hill from us. That was the first & only time I've actually seen a tornado touch down - have had many nightmares from it.

      • Lynne Thompson I remember that day well. We lived on Countryside Road and the tornado jacked up the roof on our house and destroyed the house across the street (the Bowens) and next door (the Harrers). Now I live in NYC and never expected to see big weather like that again. Except we had two tornadoes in the city last year - albeit much smaller than the Barrington storm.

But, I remember vividly Mrs. Piatrouski (not sure of the spelling) telling us the story of how the tornado took everything but their chimney. Also her daughter who was a pediatrician lost all her records.

      • Kathy Meinhard I remember that tornado well ... My family down in the basement and my brother Bob looking out the window telling us to look at that tornado. To this day when storms hit I'm as close to panicked as I was that day. Had I not seen the destruction it caused in the days that followed I'm sure I would be less of a basket case in storms now.
