Man held on $500K bail for stabbing of 2 during domestic dispute Staff report 2:28 PM CST, January 2, 2012
A judge ordered a 58-year-old Chicago man held on $500,000 bond today after he was accused of stabbing two men in a domestic dispute Saturday night in the Old Irving Park neighborhood.
Judge Maria Kuriakos-Ciesil ordered Armando Vega, of the 4200 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, held on $500,000 bail, according to a Cook County Criminal Court clerk.
Vega is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Friday, the clerk said.
Police said Vega was charged with two counts of felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in connection with the incident that occurred at about 9 p.m. Saturday at the same address.
A 61-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the abdomen, and a 36-year-old man was stabbed in the lower back, police said.
Chicago Fire Department paramedics took both victims in serious-to-critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Vega had suffered minor cuts and was taken in police custody to Swedish Covenant Hospital in good condition, officials said.
