Tonight marks the start of Passover, celebrating the Jewish exodus from slavery into freedom. In 1969, on the first anniversary of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, people of many colors and faiths gathered in a black church in D.C. to celebrate the first Freedom Seder and King's legacy of intertwining the ancient story of the Jews with that of African-Americans and others fighting for liberation - today, more relevant than ever.
"Let those who are needy celebrate the Passover ... This year we are slaves – next year may we be free." - the Haggadah.
