Where the 16 ox PBR's cosst $2.00 per, and there is ALWA"YS some sports event on the tube (and there are some real nice tubes); where the juke box is the expected excellent stasndard, the pool table shoots true, the customers polite and humble, the beer tender fast and steady, and it's appropriately sheilded from the sun ... nice dark place to hang out on a gorgeous sunny afternoon!

I've been living in the area for 30 years and starting at the age of 16 began sneaking into another local joint in Cary. Well THAT place got rid of the pool table, cleaned up it's act and now I see baby-showers there!?! Oh the horror!
I like a good dive with great food and recently said hell with it - I'm going to the Dead End. So my high school bud and I (same one who snuck into that other bar at the age of 16) headed here and we were not disapointed.
The long time owner is true to the bars history and food is GREAT! -

This place is a hidden gem! Yes, it is a bar ... and suprisingly it serves food. We'll actually it serves great food for a bar and their Pizza Rocks! Much better than any of the major chains. ... yeah the only down side is that it doesn't accept credit/debit.
Don't be fooled by the bate machine outside ... it's got a nice river view and deck to boot. -

After getting to know some of the staff there, we decided to try the food at the dead end one day for lunch...we were not disappointed and love the daily specials they offer. the burger's are always great and the soups and chili also rock. they also have free wifi to entice the sunday fantasy football crowd. remember bring cash or use the atm near the door because they don't do plastic!!1 Previous Review: Show all »
